Though we place on our blog basically reviews of DVD-releases, this time have decided to make an exception and to present on your consideration the review of film recently seen in wide hire about the next adventures of the agent 007 James Bonda «mercy Quantum» («Quantum of Solace»). As parametres coming in December of this year DVD-release can be foreseen in advance: being «скороспелкой», on it there will be no additional materials, the image of type "telecinema" (it is obligatory with «cigarette burns» in the right top corner), absence of an original sound track etc. (as I name, licence «пиратка») is possible.

Me sometimes criticise that in the reviews I prefer insurgents, thrillers and films of horrors, not giving due attention to such popular genre in the people, as a comedy. The matter is that modern comedies involve me, as a little, in my opinion, the majority of them are guided by humour «below a belt» and do not represent special art value. I do not argue, and today shoot qualitative films of this direction («does not happen» better, "Juneau", etc.), however they, unfortunately, are small and are only pleasant exception, and it is difficult to name their pure comedies.

In the western science-fiction cinema enough wide circulation was received by a teleportation phenomenon. It is enough to recollect such films, as "Fly" 1958 and 1986, and also «Терминатор» and all their sequals, «the Star gate», «Doom», a film epopee «the Star way» etc. where this process is used as auxiliary or basic means for a plot outset.

One of the most favourite writers at the western cinematographers about screen versions of its products is American visionary Filip Kindred Dik (1928-1982). Its creativity was transferred on a film by such known masters of cinema, as Stephen Spielberg, Ridley Skott and Floor Верхувен. Under books Дика have been removed including «Running on an edge», «to Recollect all», "Shouters", "Newcomer", «Special opinion», "Day of reckoning", "Turbidity". In manufacture now are "Radio" Free Албемут ”» and an autobiographical picture «the Owl at light of day». Far from the primary sources, not all screen versions Дика became masterpieces (except «Running on an edge» R.Skotta is an ingenious film of all times and the people), however, in my opinion, with rare exception ("Shouters" simply I do not transfer) they are rather sound works, even despite furious attacks of critics to some of them ("Day of reckoning" and "Newcomer"). In the early childhood I adored to look rather popular in 50-60th years so-called «Giant Monster Movies», that is films about huge monsters, in particular the Japanese tapes about adventures of "nuclear" pangolin Годзиры (at us altered in a western way as the Godzilla) and feats of many-storeyed heroes Ультрамэна and Ультрасевена, and also American "horror films" about huge ants ("They"), a monster from Venus («20 million miles to the Earth»), the semiundressed and bald giant – a victim of nuclear tests («the Surprising enormous person», «Revenge of the enormous person») etc. Now, of course, these films already seem become outdated and naive, but in due time they really frightened and bewitched. Gradually interest to similar pictures began to vanish, and them began to remove all less often and less often (except Japan where the cult of huge monsters exists and to this day). In 70-80th years there were separate films GMM (Giant Monster Movies), however they caused furore basically only in the USSR ("King Kong" 1976, «King Kong is live» 1986, «the Legend about a dinosaur» 1977) as such tapes were in a novelty for the ordinary Soviet spectator.

I already wrote earlier, that I most of all like the films of the horrors which have been removed by the European directors, rather than their American colleagues. The pictures of this genre made in old kind Europe, undoubtedly lose to "horror films" from the USA in a part, concerning the financings, impressing special effects and participation in them variegated movie stars, however almost always they are distinguished by better direction, special internal psychologism, an original aesthetics of violence and, certainly, frank enough display of bloody scenes. Not concerning the Italian films of horrors (Дарио Ардженто and Лучио Фульчи out of competition), as one of the best European киноделов in this area I consider British. Last decade revival so-called «is observed is smoothfaced a horror», i.e. horrors it come from the Great Britain. Confirming to this thesis it is possible to recollect such remarkable samples of a genre, as "Descent" and "Dogs-soldiers" of Nile of Marshall, «28 days later» Denni Boyle, "Bunker" Green's Uniform, «On the guard of death» and Michael Dzh's "Wildness". Comments of our readers testify, that the majority of the reviews placed on Blogprofilm, reflect their interests and do not contradict perception them of this or that film. Nevertheless, I foresee, that the given material will cause disputes and many censures in my address, and also will serve as object of furious attacks from admirers (and it is a lot of them, judging by a large quantity positive both professional, and amateur reviews) considered below a film and its director. Thereupon I do not get tired to repeat, that all articles of our blog have subjective character and reflect especially personal opinion of the author which can not coincide with the point of view of readers. I always concerned the French films of horrors and thrillers with a fair share of scepticism – well directors are not able to do of this remarkable country worthy pictures of a "terrible" genre (unfortunately, it concerns and to the Russian cinema – to recollect «a film of all times and the people» "Witch" enough)! In it they have far lagged behind the European colleagues from Italy, the Great Britain and Spain. Certainly, there are pleasant exceptions:

The Anglo-American insurgent of 2006 "Adrenaline" («Crank») has been let out in the Russian licence DVD-market by company Vox-Video.

"Adrenaline" has been shot by beginners in the big film Mark Neveldinom and Bryan Taylor which also have written the film scenario. Earlier they were engaged in shootings of advertising and musical rollers, camera and producer work, creation of visual effects, звукорежиссурой, acting and performance каскадерских tricks (last three positions concern only to Невелдину). Now this tandem prepares for creation киберпанковского a thriller "Game" (not to confuse to the film of David Finchera with the same name!) which exit is planned for 2009.

For last years in the western cinema there were many films about ghosts and phantoms – the boom of times of 60-70th years of last century when they were the most popular is directly observed. Some of these pictures are based on real events (anyway so their founders confirm) as, for example, a film «Phantom of Red River» on which there is a review of our blog.

The tape belonging to this category «the Legend about Lucy Kis» («The Legend of Lucy Keyes») has been let out 2006 in Russia on licence DVD by company Top Industry.
