All of us perfectly know, how unfair experts in marketing and advertisers who aspire to warm up interest to this or that foreign film, often enough cardinally change its original name and by that pervert a picture essence, misleading the unlucky spectator. With it sin not only the Russian distributors, but also their western colleagues. Many very quite good tapes became victims of these «околокиношных» experts.
It is extremely difficult to write reviews on arthouse (read – innovative and experimental) independent tapes as at times it is very difficult to understand a plan of the director who has created this or that picture of this direction. Often happens, that the perception of a similar film does not coincide at all with the idea put in pawn in it or moreover, completely contradicts that its founder wished to tell. Some typical (and, magnificent) samples of a cinema art house on my deep belief at all do not give in to judgement and a logic explanation. Them it is just necessary to look, admiring with skill and a non-standard of thinking of directors. As an example it is possible to result such masterpieces, as David Lynch's "Head-lastik", «Тетсуо – the iron person» Синии Цукамото etc. (not speaking already about «the Andaluzsky dog» Luis Bunjuelja). In any case, many of these tapes are good that everyone, taken separately, the spectator can find (or not to find at all) in them own sense and to interpret them at own discretion. At once I will make a reservation, that I mean a narrow category «сюрных» art houses-films, not including in it excellent, but works of Federiko Fellini more accessible to understanding, Emir Kusturitsy, Larsa background Триера, Wong Kar-vaja, etc. which also are ranked as this cinema direction in a broad sense.

The company «Sony Pictures» has let out on первозонном DVD last film Курта Виммера «Ultraviolet» ("Ultraviolet") in two variants – theatrical and expanded. The present review concerns the expanded version of a film which is longer theatrical for six minutes (to it my decision to write about the American edition, instead of about the Russian "emasculated" release «Twister’а») is dictated.
The Italian film of 1980 with rather unusual name «Erotic Nights of the Living Dead» («Erotic nights of live dead persons»), further for brevity «ЭНЖМ», has been let out in the first zone in нецензурированной versions by the American company «Shriek Show» (exists as well the theatrical version, however here we discuss only a director's variant of a picture). The film is removed excessively prolific (on its account of an order of 196 tapes) by the director-handicraftsman from Italy Joe д’Амато (in life Аристиде Массачези). Creativity of this cinematographer popular in the homeland (it still often acted as the operator and a script writer) covers a wide genre spectrum, including comedies, dramas, spaghettis-westerns, a fantasy, horrors (its "Anthropophage", «Red blood» and «Alive buried» are especially known), a sensuality (films about «black Эммануэль») and even «хардкорное» a porno (it «срежиссировал» more than 100 pornofilms for the Italian video market).
The old Italian film of horrors «Nuda per Satana» («Bared for the Satan») 1974, the status which has got presently cult, has been let out in нецензурированной versions on первозонном DVD by the American company «Image Entertainment».
The picture is removed by mediocre enough director Luigi Battselloj («the Pistol for Джанго»). The tape which is more likely not a pure film of horrors, and erotic psychodelic mystical imagination, with a crash has failed in the Italian hire – only 500 persons have looked it at cinemas. Really, in film Батцеллы a plot game of actors weak, special effects at level (even more low) amateur house cinema (the scene with the huge spider especially amazes, made of a papier-mache) does not take out any criticism. Nevertheless, completely worthless a film to name it is impossible. In it there is any highlight inherent in the European pictures of this genre of 70th years. Probably it is connected with rather quite good camera finds or with well transferred Gothic atmosphere of a film in style of products of classics of horrors. It is quite probable, what not last role for favorable perception of tape Батцеллы participation in her of interesting and sexually attractive Italian Rita Kalderoni («Делирий») which, besides, бóльшую the film part goes in seminude and simply bared has played, and also that has sex with the man, with the woman. By the way, the sensuality «Bared for the Satan» has purely aesthetic character, does not roll down to "software-porno", than the majority of films of similar type (the Flesh for the Animal »see the review on«) sins.
The latest film for today of remarkable American director George Romero «Land of the Dead» («the Earth dead») (2005) has been let out by company "Universal" on первозонном DVD in two variants – director's and theatrical versions. The given review concerns to нецензурированной versions of the director. Mainly it the reason of reviewing American DVD, instead of Russian also speaks, published «Universal Pictures Rus» – in the fifth zone the film left only in the theatrical version which is shorter director's for four minutes.
Film «Premutos: Lord of the Living Dead» («Премутос: the lord of live dead persons» - further it is simple «Премутос») has been let out in the first zone by the American company «E.I. Independent» in нецензурированной versions. The picture has been removed in 1997 by young German director Olafom Ittenbahom, the representative of "film underground" of Germany, known in Russia on let out on licence DVD to films «Legion of live dead persons» and «Behind a side of times». I have been extremely surprised by presence of a considerable quantity of rather favourable reviews on «Премутос» (in the West and, that is surprising, in Russia) which, in my opinion, not only has no any art value, but also in general should be forbidden to public display because of purely "amateur" character and ugly direction (the impression is made, that Иттенбах simply scoffs at spectators, "feeding" it this hand-made article). Certainly, it is necessary to take into consideration the scanty budget of a film, but to do such hack-work inexcusably for any director respecting. Ridiculous installation, an incoherent plot, inappropriate and "flat" humour, disgusting (yes simply any!) Game of actors (the truth, words "game" and "actors" somehow do not match at all "masterpiece" Иттенбаха) – the main characteristics «Премутоса». By the way, in it in a leading role has acted in film itself Иттенбах. But the director has not stinted sadistic scenes «расчлененки» and mountains of corpses (in a final caption with pride it is ascertained, that in a film 139 death have been shown) – heads are carried on small slices by shots in an emphasis from «шотгана», hands and feet are dashing shot, people are broken off in half by blood-thirsty zombies and Last 30 minutes of a picture are eaten etc. is present «a bloody bath», triumph of extreme violence. At the very end of a film causes a Homeric laughter it is not known whence the appearing tank (it in small silent German small town!) which shoots from a gun on the revived dead persons. Though, for the sake of justice I will tell, that special effects in tape Иттенбаха qualitative enough and "low budget" them in any way you will not name.
In 2003 the American company «Shriek Show» (company division «Media Blasters») has let out on первозонном DVD нецензурированную the version of a film of horrors «Flesh for the Beast» («the Flesh for the Animal»). As it was the first feature film «Media Blasters» (the truth, let out straight for house viewing, passing film service), preceded its release a wide advertising campaign: simultaneously some variants DVD – one already mentioned above, and also цензурированная and collection versions have been published; vests with the image of the demons appearing in a picture, and the book written on its plot extended. Besides, PR managers of this tape positioned it as a film reviving former traditions «еврошокеров» of 70-80th years, well-known classical «саспенсом», an abundance «расчлененки» and «обнаженки». As the director «Flesh for the Beast» American Terri West earlier specialising exclusively on a software-porno parodies to known "horror films" - «Sexual sixth feeling», «the Erotic witch from Blair 3», «Devilish school of lust» etc. has acted
The film of manufacture of Italy-France with unusual enough name «Baba Yaga» ("Woman Jaga" with an accent on the first letter) has been let out in нецензурированной versions on первозонном DVD by very good company «Blue Underground», specialising basically on releases of rare pictures and Italian «джиалло» 70-80th years. With the heroine of the Russian folklore this film has no anything the general – it is a free screen version «фуметти» (the Italian comics) "Valentina", created in the early seventies the architect from Milan Гуидо Крепаксом. Unlike the American comics focused in basic on children, «фуметти» Крепакса are intended only for adults (the truth, and in the USA since 80th years there were popular so-called «graphic short stories» - the severe comics calculated on adult public). In comics Крепакса it is a lot of sensuality, violence, садомазохистских scenes.
The film «The Sweet House of Horrors» («the Lovely house of horrors») Italian «the maestro of horrors» Лучио Фульчи («Torments innocent», «the Lizard in a female appearance») has been let out on DVD the first zone in нецензурированной versions by the company «Shriek Show». This picture together with a film «the House with hours» has been removed Фульчи for a miniserial «Fatal houses» of TV of Italy in 1989 (as well as «the House with hours», «the Lovely house of horrors» has been forbidden to display on TV because of presence in it of too frank scenes of violence).
It is rather difficult to define a genre of "the Lovely house of horrors». Unlike «At home with hours», being a typical film of horrors, «the Lovely house of horrors», despite its name, has incorporated many genres. It begins absolutely wild scene of murder of a married couple which on a sadism even surpasses some other creations Фульчи – repeated blows by a heavy subject in the person therefore eyes fall out of eye-sockets literally; deformation of the person by a poker; brains flowing down on a wall. Then film atmosphere considerably varies, and it is looked already as lovely children's "horror story" about ghosts. Separate episodes in general remind classical Italian farcical comedies. So to what category to carry this film? It seems to me, that the actors who mediocre enough have won back the roles (and children, in my opinion, have simply ugly represented the characters – except irritation of other emotions they at me did not cause), the director of the answer to this question did not know. I would define it as a mystical fairy tale for adults (basically and children can quite look this tape, but not first ten minutes which not each adult will sustain).
